The Mental Health department at The Whole Child is dedicated to empowering families through a strengths-based approach. Our mission is to provide community-based clinical services that align with our core values, ensuring that every client receives care that supports their unique environmental setting and mental well-being. We operate within a multidisciplinary framework, often collaborating with licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, and social work students to deliver comprehensive treatment.
This position serves as a vital link in our continuum of care, working directly under a Program Director to deliver clinical services to individuals, families, and groups. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing tailored treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy in diverse settings including homes, schools, and offices. The role emphasizes a community-based philosophy, requiring you to navigate complex variables to solve practical problems for clients facing mental health challenges.
A significant portion of this role involves field work, with approximately 50% of your time spent driving to client locations. You will engage in crisis intervention, facilitate Family Team Meetings, and participate in after-hours crisis line rotations for FSP services. The position also offers opportunities to mentor social work and psychology students while consulting with community agencies to enhance local mental health resources.
Candidates are expected to meet specific licensing and educational requirements, including registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The interview process will evaluate your clinical experience, ability to work with special populations, and fit within our multidisciplinary team. Successful candidates will be cross-trained as needed to support the agency's evolving needs.
The Whole Child is an equal employment opportunity employer. We do not reject candidates based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, or sex. We are committed to inclusivity and will consider candidates with physical impairments, provided the duties can be performed safely and effectively.
