The Mental Health department at The Whole Child is dedicated to empowering families through a strengths-based approach. Our mission is to provide community-based clinical services that align with our core values, ensuring every client receives personalized care that supports their mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being. We operate across various settings, including schools, homes, and offices, to meet families where they are.
This position serves as a vital clinical resource within our agency, working directly under a Program Director to deliver comprehensive mental health services. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews and assessments to understand a client's history and environmental context. Based on these findings, you will develop and implement tailored treatment plans that may include individual, group, or family therapy, as well as referrals for specialized testing or medication management.
Your day-to-day involves providing psychotherapy and psychoeducation to individuals and families, while also managing crisis interventions and evaluating the need for higher levels of care. You will maintain rigorous documentation standards within our electronic health record system and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to track client progress. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to mentor social work or psychology students and provide consultation services to other community agencies.
While much of the work is performed in a normal office setting, this role requires frequent travel to community locations such as schools and client homes. The environment may occasionally involve moderate noise levels and interactions with clients experiencing emotional outbursts. Success in this role requires the ability to solve practical problems in varied situations and the flexibility to adapt to different instructional formats and schedules.
The Whole Child is an equal employment opportunity employer. We do not reject candidates based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, or sex. We are committed to inclusivity and will consider candidates with physical impairments, provided the duties can be performed without hazard to the individual, colleagues, or clientele.
