About the Role
This position serves as a vital member of the surgical team, dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient care during surgical procedures. The role involves a comprehensive understanding of surgical anatomy and the strict application of sterile techniques to support the surgical team throughout all phases of a procedure. Beyond the operating room, the incumbent plays an active role in patient transport and fosters open communication among all team members to resolve issues effectively.
The position also emphasizes professional growth and education. Incumbents are expected to take an active role in their own professional development while initiating and supporting the mentoring process for others. This includes participating in the development and implementation of educational programs for the surgical technologist program. The role requires demonstrating the ability to perform surgical technology skills across general and specialty-based cases, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
