This position is designed to drive sales objectives and execute the division's sales strategy within an assigned territory. You will serve as a key liaison between Executive Management and customers, ensuring robust account support and service. The role requires building strong relationships with door personnel and distributors while providing comprehensive product training and technical support.
As a central figure in the sales ecosystem, you will communicate product offerings and updates, deliver industry-specific training, and coordinate virtual training initiatives. The role involves gathering accurate market intelligence, reporting on monthly sales and committed projects, and conducting job-site inspections to manage quality claims. You will also monitor major projects, assist with credit and collection processes, and utilize marketing materials to enhance sales performance. Success in this role depends on identifying new opportunities to increase territory sales and fostering a culture of trust, respect, and appreciation with the Inside Team.
Candidates must reside in the sales territory with a valid driver's license and a good driving record. We seek individuals with 5+ years of inside and/or outside sales experience in the building products industry, specifically within architectural products. A deep knowledge of architectural specifications and the wood door and millwork industry is highly valued.
This role requires a willingness to travel overnight 2-3 nights per week, representing a travel requirement of 50-75%. We value high integrity, strong relationship-building skills, and a commitment to adhering to company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct. All team members are expected to follow the Attendance Policy of VT Industries to the highest standards.
The role involves tolerance for sitting for long periods, finger dexterity for writing and typing, and adequate vision to view small print and computer terminals. Essential functions include the ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities, and perform occasional moderate lifting (50 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Employees must be able to bend at the waist and travel between multiple facilities as required.
