The Telecommunications Installation Technician I is a career-track technical position dedicated to installing and supporting information systems for dairy farms across the United States. This role is designed for individuals with a strong technical aptitude who thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. You will be responsible for the installation and support of networks, surveillance cameras, computers, and computer hardware, serving as a critical link in the technology infrastructure of agricultural operations.
This position is physically demanding and requires significant travel, with a minimum of 60% of time spent on the road throughout the country. Work is primarily performed outdoors on farms, often in close proximity to livestock and under a variety of weather conditions, ranging from extreme heat to cold. Technicians will frequently work at heights using ladders and aerial lifts up to 100 feet. The role also involves driving company vehicles and occasional air travel to reach job sites.
While the majority of the work is field-based, the role also requires the ability to use a computer and telephone for several hours daily in an office environment. Physically, the position demands the ability to sit, stand, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 80 pounds as needed to complete installations and maintenance tasks.
