This position is dedicated to guiding the learning process to achieve curriculum goals while harmonizing with the District's philosophy of education. The Teacher will establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, communicating these effectively to students. By employing a variety of instructional techniques and media, the role adapts to the physical limitations of the location and the specific needs and capabilities of student groups.
The Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment conducive to learning that is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. This includes supervising students to protect their mental and physical health and safety, as well as diagnosing learning disabilities and seeking assistance from District specialists when required. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, assessing student accomplishments, and developing reasonable rules of classroom behavior to maintain order in a fair and just manner.
Candidates must hold a media specialist certification to be eligible for hire. Additionally, applicants must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
The starting salary for this Teacher position is $48,700. Additional Referendum money is available for the next four years, starting at $7,730 for the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
