This position guides the learning process to achieve curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. The role involves employing a variety of instructional techniques and media tailored to the physical location and the specific needs and capabilities of student groups. Teachers are expected to implement the District's philosophy of education through both instruction and action, fostering an environment conducive to learning that respects student maturity and interests.
The position requires creating a safe and supportive classroom environment where students are protected from conditions harmful to their mental, physical health, or safety. Teachers will diagnose learning disabilities, maintain accurate records as required by law and policy, and assist administration in implementing student conduct rules. Additionally, the role includes supervising teacher aides and volunteers, attending staff meetings, and being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when necessary.
Candidates must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area. The hiring process involves reviewing qualifications to ensure candidates possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and the necessary knowledge of subject content, communication skills, and organizational abilities.
The starting salary for this teaching position is $48,700. Additional Referendum money is available for the next three years, starting at $5,400 for the 2025-26 school year. Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
