As a Library Media Specialist, you will serve as a vital educational leader and curriculum partner within Dallas ISD. Your mission is to ensure every student becomes an effective user of ideas and information, developing the 21st-century skills necessary to locate, evaluate, synthesize, and utilize resources to solve problems. You will act as a teacher, materials expert, and instructional adviser, fully integrating the library/media center into the school's broader instructional programs.
In this role, you will foster a collaborative environment where learners access, create, and share content using both print and digital resources. You will guide students in becoming global citizens, encouraging risk-taking, creativity, and innovation while supporting academic rigor to prepare them for college, the workforce, and lifelong learning. Beyond instruction, you will manage the library's operations, including budgeting, collection development, and facility maintenance, ensuring the space remains a safe, secure, and engaging hub for the entire school community.
This position is campus-based, requiring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite as essential job duties. The work environment typically features a moderate noise level, and travel throughout the district is an integral part of the role. Remote work or alternate work arrangements are not available for this position.
