This position guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to communicate effectively with students. The role involves employing a variety of instructional techniques and media, tailored to the physical limitations of the location and the specific needs and capabilities of student groups. The teacher is expected to implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals through both instruction and action.
The position requires creating a classroom environment conducive to learning that is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Teachers will supervise students to protect them from conditions harmful to their mental, physical health, or safety, while taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. The role includes diagnosing learning disabilities, assisting administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct, and developing reasonable rules of classroom behavior.
Teachers will be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required. The role also involves planning and supervising teacher aides and volunteers, attending staff meetings, and serving on staff committees as needed.
The starting salary for this teacher position is $48,700. Additional Referendum money is available for the next four years, starting at $7,730 for the 26-27 school year. Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
