As a Tax Accountant, you will serve as a vital member of the Tax team, ensuring the Company's compliance with federal and state regulations. Your primary focus is the timely, accurate, and compliant preparation of multi-state fuel tax and sales/use tax obligations. This role is essential for maintaining financial integrity, performing critical tax-related accounting functions such as journal entries and reconciliations, and providing robust support during audits.
You will act as the bridge between complex tax issues and regulatory requirements, analyzing vendor and customer invoices to prepare precise tax journal entries. Your work involves researching complicated tax matters and responding professionally to state and other tax entity requests, ensuring all audit requirements are satisfied while mitigating potential penalties through strict adherence to regulations.
This position is based at the Company's work site during regularly scheduled hours, requiring physical presence in an office environment. The workspace is typically quiet to moderate in noise level. While the role is primarily desk-based, it involves regular computer and phone usage to access and relay information.
