About the Role
This System Analyst 3 position serves as a vital link between business needs and technical execution within the State of Michigan's Agency Services team. Operating within an Agile environment, the role requires a deep understanding of Azure DevOps to manage the project lifecycle, from gathering unambiguous business requirements to coordinating with the PMO for essential documentation. The analyst acts as a ScrumMaster, facilitating the flow of work and ensuring clear communication between technical teams, project managers, and the user community.
Work Environment & Location
This is a hybrid role based in Lansing, MI, with a strict requirement for local candidates. Applicants must reside within one hour of Lansing, MI, at the time of submission. The standard schedule requires onsite presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for eight hours each day. To ensure a smooth transition, the first month of employment mandates a full five-day onsite week for onboarding. Remote-only options are not available for this position.
Hiring Process & Interview Requirements
Candidates must be available for an in-person interview. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role and will be evaluated during the selection process.
Duration & Conversion
The initial contract duration is 1.5 years, with a projected end date of September 30, 2027, and a possibility of extension. There is a strong desire for the successful contractor to convert to a full-time employee with the State of Michigan within 1 to 2 years. Please note that at the time of conversion, the candidate must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the State of Michigan.
