About the Role
This position functions as part of an Agile team within the State of Michigan, serving as a System Analyst 3 with a specialized focus on Business and Quality Assurance analysis. The role requires a deep understanding and heavy usage of the Azure DevOps toolset to drive project success.
As a key liaison between business needs and technical execution, you will gather, document, and test clear, unambiguous business requirements. You will translate these needs into technical specifications for development teams and communicate system functionality to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In addition to analysis and testing duties, the System Analyst serves as the ScrumMaster, coordinating with the PMO's Project Manager to ensure all necessary artifacts and documentation are maintained for State of Michigan projects.
Day in the Life
You will work closely with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This analysis guides the gathering of business requirements and the execution of test cases related to desired system functionality. Your day-to-day involves developing process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria, as well as creating test plans and scenarios. You will execute functional, integration, and regression testing, log defects, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that delivered solutions meet quality standards. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will ensure documentation remains accurate and assist with system demonstrations and training materials.
