As a Surgical Technologist, you will serve as a vital member of the surgical team, assisting the Lead Technician in managing day-to-day clinic operations and supporting Polysomnographic technicians. This role is designed to ensure the seamless flow of patient care within a military treatment facility, bridging the gap between preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of clinical and logistical responsibilities. You will be the first point of contact for patients entering the operating room, assisting with positioning and preparing them for procedures. Once surgery begins, you will perform scrub duties, anticipating the surgeon's needs by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field. Beyond the operating room, you will manage the sterilization and distribution of medical supplies, handle instrument sets, and assist with terminal cleanup to ensure the facility remains ready for the next case.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where quick thinking and precise judgment are essential. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia personnel, contributing to a culture of safety and excellence in patient care.
