About the Role
As a Structural Mechanic IV in our GAC Savannah facility, you will operate within a team-oriented environment to independently perform a variety of structural assembly operations. This role is designed for a skilled specialist who not only executes complex tasks but also contributes to the development of employees and techniques, completing work in innovative and effective ways.
In this position, you will utilize advanced sheet metal repair skills and structural fabrication expertise to install and repair aircraft skin panels, frames, ribs, and bulkheads. You will interpret complicated schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings to safely perform layout, fabrication, and installation of parts on aircraft. A key aspect of this role involves mentoring, training, and assisting other team members in the interpretation of technical documents and resolving production installation difficulties.
You will be responsible for ensuring all work conforms to company design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations. This includes coordinating with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications. You will also plan and organize workloads to meet schedule expectations, maintain detailed logs and records, and support Lean activities and 5S housekeeping policies.
