About the Role
The Structural Mechanic II position is based at our GAC Savannah facility. This role is designed for a team-oriented environment where you will perform a variety of structural assembly operations under minimal supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring that all work aligns with company design specifications and quality standards, ultimately meeting customer expectations.
In this position, you will be the backbone of our production department, handling the safe assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures. Your day-to-day involves sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation on aircraft, as well as performing varied drilling and riveting operations. You will read complex work orders, blueprints, lofts, and sketches to determine the sequence of operations and ensure precise hole patterns and configurations. A key part of your mission is maintaining a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection and managing necessary rework through Discrepant Material Tags and Production Change Orders.
We value a professional attitude and attention to detail. You will be expected to maintain a neat and orderly work area, supporting our 5S Program and complying with all safety regulations. This role requires the ability to work weekend shifts and collaborate effectively with leadership and other shifts through turnover reports to ensure seamless operations.
