About the Role
The Structural Mech II position in our GAC Savannah production department is a vital role within a team-oriented environment. Operating under minimal supervision, you will perform a variety of structural assembly operations following established operating procedures. Your work ensures that all aircraft structures meet company design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation. You will utilize various tools to rivet structural assemblies, remove fasteners without damaging structure, and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, and sketches to determine operation sequences. A key part of your day involves checking all work for defects prior to final inspection, maintaining necessary logs and records, and performing repairs to ensure installations meet conformity.
You will collaborate with leadership and shift teams to coordinate activities, support Lean activities, and maintain a neat and orderly work area in compliance with the company's 5S Program and all safety regulations. This position requires the ability to work any shift, including the First shift, and to navigate the physical demands of the shop floor.
