About the Role

The Store Manager leads Mattress Firm's vision and Company Initiatives, achieving sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for the execution of in-store merchandising across multiple store units. This role drives selling programs, manages related KPI results, and supports the omni-channel experience. As an effective coach, the Store Manager develops associates' skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and motivated team dedicated to achieving success. The ideal candidate ensures teams always put the customer at the center and creates a compelling, engaging environment for the team.

Day in the Life

Your day involves conducting one-on-one meetings to gain a deep understanding of your team's motivations and personal or professional aspirations. You will develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that grows alongside your team, evolving to incorporate new insights as they are gained. You will also conduct 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members to discuss progress and opportunities. Beyond team building, you will analyze company reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels, partner with leadership on staffing changes, and plan strategically to counter competition and advertisements.
