About the Role
As a Store Manager in Training, you will participate in a structured 8-week leadership development program designed to prepare you for future leadership within our growing organization. This role is not designated for a specific store; instead, you will rotate through a minimum of three store locations to gain a comprehensive understanding of our operations.
Upon completion of the program, your final placement will be determined by your performance and the business needs of the organization at that time. This position requires a willingness to travel during training and relocate for your final assignment. You will assist the Store Manager in operating a store that stresses the importance of customer service, maintains associate morale, provides training, and maximizes sales and profits.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be willing to relocate and travel as part of the training program. Successful applicants will be required to satisfactorily complete the National Retail Hardware Association test within three months of starting.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleInteract with and provide prompt attention to customers and associates throughout the store
- check_circleAssist the store manager in maintaining store cleanliness and appearance standards
- check_circleObserve customer needs through merchandising, stock levels, and prompt service
- check_circleAid in maintaining merchandising aspects including endcaps, displays, and cross merchandising
- check_circleProvide training for associates and help maintain a knowledgeable associate base
- check_circleAssist in maintaining proper staffing needs, follow hiring procedures, and maintain disciplinary action
- check_circlePerform various administration functions and open and close the store as needed
- check_circleLearn manager responsibilities such as operations, scheduling, training, and personnel issues
- check_circlePerform daily walking tours to ensure areas meet company standards and assign duties
- check_circleResponsible for inventory and order verification, and overseeing bank deposits when the manager is unavailable
- check_circleAid in the supervision of store personnel and notify the manager of operational problems
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in business related field preferred
- verifiedMinimum 2 years of retail or managerial experience
- verifiedSatisfactory completion of National Retail Hardware Association test within three months of starting
- verifiedValid driver's license with clean driving record
- verifiedProficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- verifiedAbility to perform forecasting, marketing, and analysis
- verifiedSufficient knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field. Some knowledge in construction, maintenance, electrical, repair, plumbing, forklift, and pallet jack operations.
