The Evaluation, Assessment, & Education Research (EAR) team within the BCM School of Medicine drives the institution's mission in program evaluation, learner performance assessment, education research, and accreditation. We partner with deans, directors, faculty, and staff to ensure our medical education programs meet rigorous standards and continuously improve learner outcomes.
As a Statistician, you will oversee and participate in the collection, analysis, and reporting of statistical and qualitative data to create customized reports for program stakeholders. This role is central to the EAR team's ability to support accreditation activities and advance competence-based medical education. You will apply standard quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data from both large and small samples, transforming complex information into clear narratives, tables, graphs, and charts.
You will work with a high level of autonomy, exercising discretion with high volumes of complex, confidential information. The role requires independently managing multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities, while maintaining administrative processes for the School of Medicine Curriculum Office. Success in this position demands exceptional customer service skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and strong oral and written communication to convey findings to school committees and leadership.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days on site / 2 days from home) within the Greater Houston, TX area, available after a training period. You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you must be comfortable dealing with uncertainty and collaborating within a team-oriented culture.
