As a Journeyman Engineer, you will serve as the technical backbone of our property, ensuring the seamless operation of all physical systems. This role exists to maintain the highest standards of comfort, safety, and efficiency for our guests and team members. You will be responsible for the advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and pool heaters. Your work ensures that every guest experience is uninterrupted by equipment failures or safety hazards.
In this position, you will act as a subject matter expert, utilizing your advanced engineering skills to perform highly complex repairs with minimal supervision. You will conduct routine property inspections to identify safety hazards, lighting issues, or equipment malfunctions, taking immediate corrective action. Beyond technical repairs, you will play a vital leadership role by training and mentoring junior engineers, supervising work in progress, and acting as the Engineer on Duty when management is unavailable. You will also manage maintenance inventory, coordinate with vendors, and ensure all operations comply with local and national codes.
Your day begins with thorough rounds and readings to assess the status of building systems. You will navigate the property to visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery, ensuring they are clean, lubricated, and ready for use. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to diagnosing and repairing critical infrastructure, from electrical components to plumbing systems, always adhering to strict Lockout/Tagout safety protocols.
Communication is key to your success; you will document daily activities and problems to ensure seamless handoffs between shifts. You will interact with guests to resolve maintenance requests professionally, anticipating their needs and assisting those with disabilities. Additionally, you will manage relationships with maintenance contracts and vendors, ensuring that all work meets company standards. Whether you are climbing ladders to service equipment or analyzing blueprints to plan repairs, your focus remains on safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly by our recruiting team to schedule a conversation regarding your experience and qualifications. Please ensure your application includes all relevant certifications, particularly those related to refrigeration or electrical work.
