General Motors is driven by a vision of a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. Our team embraces the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer, and more equitable for all. We are a diverse group of adventure-seekers and imaginative thought leaders who bring collective passion for engineering, technology, and design to transform mobility.
This Level 8 Staff Software Engineer role serves as a senior technical leader for Android Automotive and 3D visualization software, specifically focused on ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) HMI experiences. You will backfill a scope covering signal-driven ADAS visualization, Android services, rendering performance, and cross-team architecture execution.
Operating with broad latitude in a complex environment, you will define system architecture, decompose ambiguous product requirements, and drive multi-team execution. The role requires holding the team accountable for high-quality delivery across vehicle programs while translating complex product, design, safety, and system requirements into practical software designs. You will mentor senior and mid-level engineers on Android Automotive architecture, 3D rendering trade-offs, and cross-team technical leadership, ensuring clear communication of technical direction and risks to engineering leadership.
Applicants in the recruitment process may be required to successfully complete role-related assessments and/or pre-employment screenings prior to beginning employment. For more details on our hiring approach, please visit our How we Hire page.
