General Motors is driven by a vision of a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. We embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer, and more equitable for all. Our diverse team of employees brings a collective passion for engineering, technology, and design to transform mobility. We are looking for adventure-seekers and imaginative thought leaders to help us execute this mission through technology and ingenuity.
This Level 8 Staff Software Engineer role serves as a senior technical leader for Android Automotive and 3D visualization software within our ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) HMI experiences. You will backfill a scope covering signal-driven ADAS visualization, Android services, rendering performance, and cross-team architecture execution.
Operating with broad latitude in a complex environment, you will define system architecture, decompose ambiguous product requirements, and drive multi-team execution. Your day-to-day involves translating complex product, design, and safety requirements into practical software designs with clear interfaces and test strategies. You will own complex workstreams from concept through production release, ensuring high-quality delivery across vehicle programs while mentoring senior and mid-level engineers on Android Automotive architecture and 3D rendering trade-offs.
Applicants in the recruitment process may be required to successfully complete role-related assessments and/or pre-employment screenings prior to beginning employment. For more details on our approach, visit our How we Hire page.
