As the leader of the health care team, this Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. The role is designed to demonstrate performance consistent with the Medical Center's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan. You will remain flexible to changing systems while ensuring quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.

As a leader, you will serve as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees, registry staff, students, and other team members. You will champion new ideas, lead others through the change process, and foster a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through unit-based teams.
Your day involves developing and contributing to individualized plans of care that reflect multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education. You will monitor patient progress, revise care plans based on ongoing evaluations, and ensure effective discharge planning, including identifying barriers and providing clear patient and family education.
Patient safety is a priority, requiring adherence to standard precautions and the five rights of medication administration to prevent falls, decubitus ulcers, and nosocomial infections. You will actively listen to the needs of patients and families, ensuring they understand their treatment, medication purpose, and discharge instructions. Additionally, you will collaborate with physicians and other team members to discuss findings and participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
This position requires flexibility, including working every other weekend. If the twelve-hour shift option is chosen, the schedule will be 7:00 pm to 7:30 am; the backup eight-hour shift will be 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.
