The Integration and Test Engineer serves as a strategic leader in defining and synthesizing test processes for complex electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems. This role is critical for coordinating activities from the assembly level through to full system integration, ensuring all technical obligations are met with precision. As a senior professional, you will provide technical leadership as the I&T Lead, collaborating closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads on design and development challenges specific to Submarine and Surface Imaging systems.
In this position, you will bridge the gap between engineering development and operational execution. You will guide engineering teams with insights derived from lessons learned, manage Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities for system qualification, and drive continuous improvement efforts. The role demands a blend of deep technical expertise in systems engineering and broad project management capabilities, allowing you to make substantial improvements to existing systems and processes while contributing directly to departmental goals.
Your work will span the entire product lifecycle, from supporting business development proposals and generating technical volumes to executing rigorous component and system-level verification. You will lead customer discussions at high-level forums such as the Systems Engineering Working Group and Management Working Group, preparing and delivering technical presentations to domestic and international stakeholders. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to developing comprehensive test plans, procedures, and traceability matrices, as well as performing root cause analysis to resolve failure trends effectively.
You will also play a key mentoring role, guiding less tenured engineers on the I&T team while maintaining oversight of complex projects. This position requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% to support various testing forums and integration meetings.
Candidates must be able to obtain a US DOD Secret Clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigations and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
