Walmart is the U.S.'s largest private employer, operating with a vision of "everyone included." We aim to create a culture where every associate feels valued for who they are and is rooted in respect for the individual. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging, create opportunities for all our associates, customers, and suppliers, and be a Walmart for everyone. Approximately 90% of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a Walmart or Sam's Club, and our associates reflect the makeup of all of America, as well as the 18 other countries where we operate.
As a Specialty Equipment (Food Technician), you will join a local and regional team dedicated to maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our stores. Operating under the supervision of the General Maintenance Manager, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold our facilities and equipment. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency and food safety, requiring you to diagnose and repair commercial food equipment such as combi ovens, deli slicers, fryers, and ice makers, as well as manage grease and oil systems.
You will be the first line of defense in emergency maintenance calls, utilizing plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling skills to keep our stores running smoothly. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction by ensuring high levels of operational efficiency and minimizing the risk of cross-contamination in food production areas. Beyond technical repairs, you will play a key role in training Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning, fostering a culture of teamwork and servant leadership.
Candidates are invited to submit their applications to be considered for this position. The recruitment process involves reviewing qualifications and experience in relevant trades such as plumbing, electrical, or material handling equipment. Selected candidates will be contacted for further steps, which may include interviews to discuss skills, experience, and fit within the team. Specific details regarding the interview timeline and additional bonus opportunities will be disclosed during the interview process.
