As a Mechanical Design Engineer Specialist at L3Harris Technologies, you will play a vital role in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems. This position bridges the gap between basic engineering theory and integrated system design, requiring a deep understanding of structural analysis to drive innovation in aerospace platforms.
You will collaborate closely with senior-level design engineers and cross-functional teams—including Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production—to ensure designs meet rigorous requirements while optimizing for cost. Your work will leverage world-class 3D solid modeling CAD tools to develop layouts and engineering drawings for a wide variety of aircraft systems.
The role offers a dynamic, hands-on environment where you will not only design in the office but also engage directly with the hardware. Success in this position requires the ability to walk to and from the flight line, work within aircraft hangar environments, and board or exit aircraft as needed to validate designs and coordinate with production teams.
