About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer Specialist, you will play a vital role in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems. You will apply fundamental engineering design and analytical theories to integrated system design, ensuring that every component meets rigorous requirements while optimizing for cost and performance.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks across different aircraft platforms. You will collaborate closely with senior-level design engineers and coordinate with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production teams. Your work will involve research, layout development, and the creation of engineering drawings using world-class 3D solid modeling CAD tools.
The role requires an active presence on the flight line. You must be able to walk to and from the flight line, work within aircraft hangar environments, and board or exit aircraft as part of your daily responsibilities. Additionally, the position may require travel as needed to support project goals.
