Specialist, Mechanical Engineer (Aircraft Design)

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer Specialist, you will play a vital role in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems. This position bridges the gap between basic engineering design theory and integrated system application, requiring a deep understanding of structural analysis to drive innovation in aerospace platforms.

You will collaborate closely with senior-level design engineers and cross-functional teams, including Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production. Your work involves researching and developing layouts, preparing engineering drawings, and coordinating design activities to ensure requirements are met at minimum cost. Utilizing world-class 3D solid modeling CAD tools, you will tackle a wide variety of tasks across different aircraft systems.

This role offers a dynamic, hands-on environment. You will be expected to work directly in aircraft hangars, walk to and from the flight line, and board or exit aircraft as part of your daily operations. The position also requires a willingness to travel as needed to support project demands.
