About the Role
The Mechanical Design Engineer Specialist plays a vital role in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems. This position applies basic engineering design and analytical theory, with a focus on structural analysis, to support integrated system design. You will collaborate with senior-level design engineers to develop layouts and prepare engineering drawings using world-class 3D solid modeling CAD tools. The role requires coordination with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production teams to ensure designs meet requirements efficiently.
Day in the Life
Your work will span a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems across different platforms. A key aspect of this role involves active engagement with the physical environment; you must be able to walk to and from the flight line, work within aircraft hangar environments, and board or exit aircraft as needed. The position also requires a willingness and ability to travel as necessary to support project needs.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
