This position provides mission engineering support services for a Washington, DC-based customer, serving as a critical link between L3Harris developed systems and operational success. The role demands in-depth knowledge of both hardware and software components, focusing on the monitoring and trending of system performance to recognize and respond to anomalous conditions. You will apply advanced engineering standards, principles, and theories to solve complex problems associated with spaceflight hardware.
The ideal candidate will work independently to resolve a wide range of engineering issues while collaborating across mechanical, optical, electrical, and software disciplines. Daily interaction with teammates and customers is essential to ensure mission success, requiring continuous communication of technical issues, risks, opportunities, and status regarding L3Harris-supplied products. This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced, multi-company environment, involving collaboration with L3Harris off-site factory support and on-site customers. The position includes an on-call component and occasional surge or shift work to support mission operations.
Candidates must possess an active Top Secret security clearance. Please note that many positions at L3Harris require the ability to obtain a security clearance, which may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
