This position provides mission engineering support services for a Washington, DC-based customer, serving as a critical link between L3Harris developed systems and operational success. The role demands in-depth knowledge of both hardware and software components, focusing on the monitoring and trending of system performance to recognize and respond to anomalous conditions. You will apply advanced engineering standards and principles to solve complex problems associated with spaceflight hardware, working independently to resolve a wide range of engineering challenges.
Success in this role requires seamless collaboration across mechanical, optical, electrical, and software disciplines. You will maintain continuous communication regarding technical issues, risks, opportunities, and status with respect to L3Harris-supplied products. Daily interaction with teammates and customers is essential to ensure mission success in a fast-paced, multi-company environment. The position includes an on-call component and occasional surge or shift work to support mission operations.
Candidates must possess an active Top Secret security clearance. Background in EO/IR or imaging systems design. Familiarity with Linux. Familiarity with ground telemetry & commanding software and mission scheduling software. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team, and act as customer interface. Disciplined approach to procedural and program documentation of processes and results. Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership.
