This Senior Management position serves as a strategic partner to support the effective and compliant administration of the organization's Capital Project Portfolio, Development Project Portfolio, and Department G&A Budget. The role exists to identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions for project delivery issues and variances, ensuring operational excellence across the full project lifecycle.
In this position, you will champion NRG's safety culture and provide project controls and operational support to Development, Engineering & Construction (DE&C) teams. You will manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from setup and authorization to close-out, while overseeing cost tracking, forecasting, and budget administration. The role requires a blend of technical project controls expertise and commercial acumen, assisting with interconnection, permitting, contracting, and complex initiatives such as entity formation, joint ventures, and M&A support.
This role operates within a results-oriented environment. The primary office location is in Houston, featuring an open office layout. The position requires the ability to work across office, plant, and field environments. While the role is based in the office, occasional travel to various sites and business meeting locations is required to support project needs. Time worked outside of normal hours may be necessary as business demands dictate.

Advanced Degree/Certification in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or Data Science (e.g., Masters, MBA, CPA, CFA). OSHA 30 Certification. PMI/PMP Certification. AACE Certification. Six Sigma Certification. Experience with ERP System Implementation (e.g., SAP). Familiarity with Project Management Software (e.g., InEight, Procore, Sage100, Fieldwire, Spectrum). Familiarity with BIM Systems (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble). Experience designing/maintaining self-service reports using Power BI, Spotfire, or Tableau. Proficiency in Data/BI/Automation Tools (e.g., VBA, C, C++, SQL, MATLAB, Python). Advanced M365 Configuration skills (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams, Flow, Azure, Forms, PowerApps, Power Automate).
