KIPP Texas Public Schools is dedicated to ensuring that every student has the tools and supportive environment necessary to thrive. The Special Populations Specialist plays a critical role in advancing this mission by supporting faculty and school leaders in delivering high-quality, individualized educational programs for students with diverse learning needs. This position serves as a bridge between strategic vision and campus-level execution, ensuring adherence to legal standards while fostering a culture of equity and accountability.
The Special Populations Specialist acts as a vital support system for special populations faculty, providing guidance on compliance, curriculum, and instruction. Working closely with instructional staff, regional curriculum teams, and school-based personnel, the Specialist ensures the delivery of inclusive instruction that meets both instructional best practices and legal requirements under IDEA, Texas State Education Law, and Section 504.
In this role, you will partner with Senior Directors of Special Populations to promote consistency and quality across the network. You will serve as a mentor and key point of contact, building teacher capacity through ongoing, campus-based instructional modeling and compliance training. The day-to-day involves distilling strategic priorities into actionable steps for staff, analyzing student performance data to drive interventions, and facilitating professional development that empowers educators to support students with diverse learning needs effectively.
Candidates selected for an interview will engage in a multi-stage process designed to assess both technical expertise and cultural fit. This typically includes an initial screening to discuss background and experience, followed by a deeper dive into specific scenarios related to special education compliance and instructional coaching. Finalists may be invited for a presentation or panel discussion with the Senior Director and team members to demonstrate their approach to stakeholder engagement and strategic planning.
KIPP Texas Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive community. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. We believe that a diverse workforce is essential to our mission of serving all students.
