About the Role
For the 2026-2027 school year, we are seeking a dedicated support professional to meet the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. This role is vital to the implementation of classroom programs, focusing on self-help skills, behavior management, and instructional support.
Working under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher, you will be an integral part of the educational team. Your day will involve assisting students with physical disabilities, including transfers, positioning, and personal care needs such as feeding and hygiene. You will also help manage student behavior, intervene in crisis situations when necessary, and adapt interactions to meet individual medical, physical, and emotional needs.
Beyond direct student care, you will support the teacher by preparing instructional materials, maintaining a neat and orderly classroom, and assisting with administrative records. You will supervise students throughout the school day, including during lunch, bus duty, and playground activities, while adhering to district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
