Lynn Public Schools is launching the Compañeros Spanish-English One-Way Dual Language Program, a transformative initiative dedicated to developing bilingualism, biliteracy, and socio-cultural competence for all students. The program opened at Harrington Elementary School in September 2020 and expanded to Connery Elementary School in September 2022.
This role offers a unique opportunity to participate in the strategic planning and program design during the Spring and Summer of 2026. Selected candidates will help build the foundational framework for dual language education within the district, shaping the learning experience for years to come.
As a Spanish Dual Language Kindergarten Teacher, you will lead a 90%-10% instructional model where students spend 90% of their day mastering content areas—including Spanish language arts, math, social studies, and science—in Spanish. You will integrate cultural traditions, customs, and history from the Spanish-speaking world in developmentally appropriate ways, fostering a positive, asset-based, and multicultural learning environment.
Working within a collaborative team, you will partner with grade-level colleagues to plan lessons that meet diverse student needs while focusing on language acquisition and social growth. The district is committed to supporting your success with targeted professional development, curriculum resources, and strategy implementation aligned with core values of inclusiveness, high expectations, and shared responsibility.
Interested candidates should submit their application through the Lynn Public Schools recruitment portal. The selection process includes a review of qualifications, followed by interviews with district and school leadership. An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug test, National fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (NCBC), and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) prior to the start of employment.
Lynn Public Schools is committed to a non-discrimination policy. The district does not unlawfully discriminate or tolerate discrimination in its educational and employment policies, programs, and activities on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, color, national origin, creed, religion, ethnicity, ancestry, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws. This includes protections under Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. The district explicitly recognizes that race includes traits historically associated with race, such as hair texture, hair type, and protective hairstyles.
