About the Organization

The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) is dedicated to empowering the community through comprehensive social services. Our mission centers on providing opportunities that foster social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth for children and families.

About the Role

As an EHS Teacher I/II within our Head Start Program (Early Explorers Center), you will serve as a vital instructor in the Educational Service Component. Your primary focus is to guide children through activities designed to promote their holistic development according to their unique age and stage of growth.

This role goes beyond the classroom; you will be a partner to parents, enhancing their role as the primary influence in their child's education. You will integrate educational aspects into the daily schedule, assist families in identifying home-based learning activities, and foster a sense of pride in the children's cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In bilingual settings, you will bridge communication gaps, ensuring children and families are supported in their primary language.

Our Culture and Benefits

MAOF is committed to the well-being of our team and the community we serve. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% employer match, and extensive paid time off including 12 paid holidays and 48 hours of sick time. Our culture values professional growth, offering opportunities for development, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental and financial support, and a referral bonus program.

Hiring Process and Application

Candidates for this position must meet specific health and safety requirements, including T.B. clearance, drug screening, and a valid California Driver's License with personal vehicle access. A mandatory pediatric first aid and CPR certificate is required to maintain employment.

Interested applicants should be prepared to submit updated educational transcripts and undergo a Live Scan fingerprint clearance process. The interview process will assess your ability to relate to diverse groups, including low-income families, and your commitment to providing high-quality services to children.

Equal Opportunity Statement

MAOF is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every team member and child feels valued and supported.
