This role serves as a critical technical leader within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The position supports the modernization and ongoing operations of vital Child Welfare and State Hospital systems, specifically the Michigan Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (MiSACWIS) and the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS). These platforms are essential for delivering services to vulnerable children and families across the state, requiring high availability, scalability, and strict compliance with state and federal standards.
The architect will lead the transition of legacy systems to a modern Salesforce-based platform, ensuring architectural integrity and alignment with MDHHS's strategic goals. This work directly impacts the lives of over 8,000 users across state and private agencies who rely on these systems for case management and field service operations.
As a Software Solutions Architect, you will function as the primary development specialist responsible for the design, development, testing, and documentation of enterprise-grade Salesforce solutions. You will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technical execution, translating the needs of business analysts and product owners into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Your day-to-day involves leading end-to-end architecture for Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Field Service Lightning. You will conduct org health checks, promote the adoption of Salesforce's Well-Architected Framework, and provide technical mentorship to a mix of state employees and contractors. A significant portion of the role involves ensuring secure application development lifecycle (SADLC) practices are followed while supporting 24/7 Tier 2 operations.
The interview process begins with a 60-minute virtual interview via MS Teams. Candidates must join from a laptop with video enabled and be prepared to share their screen. A screenshot photo of the candidate is required for all interviews, and a vendor representative will be present at the start of the virtual session to validate the candidate's identity. Successful candidates will proceed to a second round, which is an in-person interview.
