About the Role

This position serves as a critical technical lead within the agency, dedicated to creating, implementing, and maintaining applications that directly support the organization's mission. The role operates across a diverse technology stack including Salesforce, MuleSoft, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle, ensuring that digital solutions remain robust, compliant, and aligned with evolving departmental statutes and regulations.

As a lead developer, you will not only build new solutions but also perform deep-dive analysis and reverse engineering of existing codebases to apply necessary fixes and drive architectural improvements. The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen, involving close collaboration with internal teams, external governmental entities, and private sector partners to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.

Day in the Life

Your work will span the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance. You will partner with business stakeholders to deliver agency-critical solutions using Agile methodologies, ensuring versioning integrity and adherence to best practices. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to assessing current systems, refactoring code, and redesigning architectures for optimal performance.

You will act as a bridge between complex technical requirements and regulatory constraints, translating intricate technical and regulatory information into concise documentation and presentations for diverse audiences. This role demands a detail-oriented approach to complex analysis, requiring you to balance multiple tasks to meet strict project deadlines while maintaining effective working relationships across the department and the broader public sector.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this role will undergo a rigorous evaluation process designed to assess both technical proficiency and cultural fit. The process typically includes:

  1. Initial Screening: Review of qualifications against the required 3+ years of lead developer experience on Salesforce implementations or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 7+ years of experience.
  2. Technical Assessment: Evaluation of skills in Salesforce development, MuleSoft integrations, and relational database management (Oracle/SQL).
  3. Interview Rounds: Discussions focusing on system design, problem-solving capabilities, and experience with cross-functional collaboration.
  4. Final Review: Verification of pre-employment requirements and background checks.

Equal Opportunity

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Our goal is to foster an environment where diverse perspectives drive innovation and better serve the public we are dedicated to.
