We are seeking an experienced Software Asset & O365 License Manager to lead the management of the DC Government's software environment. This role is critical for helping customers understand and effectively utilize their software licenses, agreements, and O365 entitlements. The position focuses on leveraging Microsoft best practices to track and control software purchases and installations while managing associated compliance risks from legal and financial perspectives.
As a key specialist, you will navigate the entire software lifecycle—from licensing and purchasing to deployment and decommissioning. You will serve as the primary point of contact for major publishers, managing projects of all sizes and types. Your work will involve deep collaboration with Vendor Managers, Product Owners, Application Managers, and Engineers to ensure accurate inventory, entitlement alignment, and seamless project closure.
Your day will involve analyzing purchase records, contracts, EULAs, and subscription data using the Microsoft Volume License (MVL) and O365 portals to establish a complete summary of license entitlements. You will lead the reconciliation and presentation of Final License Position Reports, ensuring all data is accurate and consistent.
You will be responsible for creating and updating software counters, participating in Microsoft SAM engagements and true-ups, and ensuring that license records are correctly linked to hardware devices. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to providing monthly and quarterly compliance status reports to OCTO management and Agency CIOs, as well as processing software-related requests from all DC agencies.
Additionally, you will support IT Asset Management (ITAM) project activities, review compliance measures against existing agreements, and work with vendors to renew and true-up contracts. You will also drive process improvements by preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and strategizing on the consolidation and management of Adobe and similar licensing portfolios.
This is a direct client position with immediate interviews available. The interview process includes both webcam and in-person sessions. Please note that this position is 100% onsite at the Washington DC 20003 location.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
