We are seeking a highly experienced Software Asset & O365 License Manager to serve as a SAM Specialist and Business Analyst for the DC Government. In this direct client position, you will be the primary steward of the government's software environment, ensuring that all software licenses, agreements, and entitlements are accurately managed, compliant, and optimized.
This role is critical for mitigating legal and financial risks associated with software usage. You will act as a bridge between technical teams, vendor managers, and agency leadership, translating complex licensing structures into actionable strategies. Your day-to-day involves guiding the normalization of purchase information, leading the reconciliation of license positions, and ensuring that software assets are properly aligned from the initial purchase through to decommissioning.
You will be expected to manage projects for every size and type, engaging with major software publishers and internal stakeholders to define entitlement scopes, update software counters, and produce high-level compliance reports for the OCTO management and Agency CIOs. This position requires a deep strategic understanding of the software lifecycle, from licensing and purchasing to deployment and retirement, with a specific focus on Microsoft subscription models (O365, Azure) and enterprise contracts.
This is an immediate opening for a 3-19 month contract position located 100% onsite in Washington, DC (20003). Due to the critical nature of the role, we are conducting immediate interviews.
Interview Requirements: Candidates must be available for both a webcam interview and an in-person interview. Please note that the in-person component is mandatory for this position.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
Work model: On-site
