K12, a Stride Company, is dedicated to the mission of "Education for ANY ONE." We provide families with a high-quality, personalized online education option where students can thrive, find their passion, and learn at their own pace in an environment that encourages discovery.
Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM) is a passionate partner school within our network. Our mission is to provide an exemplary, individualized, and engaging educational experience by incorporating school and community/family partnerships, a rigorous curriculum, and a data-driven, student-centered instructional model. We measure student success through valid assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and continued institutional growth.
We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our team immediately for the 2025/2026 school year. This role is vital for supporting families facing crisis, abuse, and neglect, as well as addressing social-emotional needs that impact student academic achievement.
In this position, you will maintain a caseload of students and families referred for additional support. Your day-to-day involves providing brief assessments to develop action plans, facilitating family intervention meetings for those in crisis, and serving as the primary point of contact for teachers and administration regarding family crises. You will also act as a liaison for specific student subgroups (ESSA, McKinney-Vento, and migrant students), coordinating with external agencies such as Child Protective Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Additionally, you will maintain an active awareness of local community resources through research and networking.
This is a home-based position, though it may require one or more days a week in the office as determined by your supervisor. Candidates must reside in Michigan and hold a Michigan Social Worker Certificate or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker license.
Interested candidates should apply directly to join our talented team. If you are a job seeker with a disability and require a reasonable accommodation to apply, please contact stridecareers@k12.com.
