Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver providing a full convergence of services for youth ages 12 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our mission is to meet youth where they are, offering the assistance and support needed to achieve self-sufficiency or exit life on the streets.
We operate a 136-bed shelter, daytime drop-in services, supportive housing, and various programs grounded in trauma-informed care and Positive Youth Development. We strive to be a safe community for all youth, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, class, educational background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability status.
As a Case Manager, you will provide ongoing engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation for youth on your individual caseload. This role is central to ensuring that interactions, interventions, and environments at Urban Peak are trauma-informed, emphasizing the physical and emotional safety of both youth and staff.
You will work with youth who have unique goals related to mental health, substance use, education, employment, and housing. Your day will involve managing a caseload of up to 30 clients, conducting weekly meetings to review progress, and assisting youth in navigating housing programs. Beyond direct case management, you will participate in milieu supervision, ensuring the shelter environment remains safe, clean, and supportive. This includes working alongside kitchen staff and volunteers, managing intakes, and providing crisis intervention when necessary.
The position requires a balance of administrative precision and interpersonal connection. You will document all services in Salesforce, maintain accurate client files, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and external agencies. You will act as a positive role model, cultivating shame-free relationships where youth feel safe discussing their identities, including substance use, sexuality, and neurodivergence.
Urban Peak embraces diversity and considers all qualified candidates interested in the non-profit sector. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, HIV/AIDS status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws. We encourage all candidates to apply.
To be considered for this position, applicants must provide proof of education (High School Diploma or Official Transcripts). Candidates must be insurable as a driver on Urban Peak's auto liability policy to conduct business or transport youth, and must be able to pass federal and state background checks, as well as pre-employment TB screening and physical examinations.
