About Larkin Street Youth Services

Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has helped more than 75,000 young adults in San Francisco with outreach, shelter, housing, education, employment, healthcare, and other services. Today, we are the largest provider of housing and services to homeless youth in the Bay Area, serving 1,500 youth annually through over 500 emergency shelter, transitional, supportive, and subsidy-based housing beds across unique sites in San Francisco.

Working at Larkin Street means making a real difference in the lives of young people experiencing homelessness. Our team is skilled, diverse, and passionate. Our culture encourages achievement, professional development, teamwork, and self-care. Our focus is always on the young people at the heart of our mission, nurturing potential, promoting dignity, and supporting bold steps by all.

About the Role

The Program Manager of Youth Leadership serves as a vital bridge between the organization's mission and the voices of the youth we serve. In this role, you will oversee the operations of the Community Policy Fellowship Program, which introduces youth experiencing homelessness to the power of advocacy.

You will be the architect of a transformative experience, guiding youth fellows through program and curricula development, budget management, and event planning. Your day-to-day involves partnering with Program Leadership to ensure the successful implementation of Youth Fellows' projects, while also collaborating with internal departments to elevate youth advocacy and support youth-led challenges. This is a position for a self-starter who thrives in a mostly in-person environment, ready to bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to every task.

The Hiring Process

We are committed to a fair and transparent hiring process. All City and County of San Francisco employees are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. For details on how this applies to your employment, please refer to our official resources. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of their background.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Larkin Street Youth Services is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to embracing diversity and consider all applicants for all positions without regard to color, ethnic background, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, HIV/AIDS status, veteran status, or any other legally protected class. We actively encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds to apply for any open position in which they feel qualified.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider employment for qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. We seek candidates with a genuine interest in the non-profit sector who share our passion for ending youth homelessness.
