The Department of Mental Health (DMH) assures and provides access to services and support to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work, and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery, sets policy, promotes self-determination, protects human rights, and supports mental health training and research.
The High Street state-operated program is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and compassionate Clinical Social Worker to serve as a vital member of our care team. This role is designed to provide direct, evidence-based clinical services to individuals in both one-on-one and group settings. The position focuses on psychiatric treatments, symptom and wellness management, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and risk management.
In this capacity, you will champion the recovery process, fostering hope, healing, empowerment, and connection for every client. You will utilize recovery-oriented, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction, and strength-based approaches to help clients articulate their strengths, hopes, dreams, and goals. As a member of the Individual Action Plan (IAP) Team, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop clinical formulations, and collaborate with clients to create personalized care strategies. Your work will also involve providing psychoeducation, skills training, and clinical consultation to staff, ensuring a high-quality, person-centered environment where family and friends are welcomed and valued.
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will work from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with Sundays and Mondays off. The role may require travel, and employees using a motor vehicle must possess a valid Massachusetts (or equivalent) driver's license.
