As a Flight Simulator Pilot Instructor, you will tackle challenges with flexibility and grace, learning new skills and advancing your career while having the time of your life. This role is designed for those ready to enrich both their personal and work lives. You will conduct the simulator phase of pilot flight instruction, providing training in compliance with American Airlines policies, FAA requirements, and other government regulations.
Your day-to-day will involve training in a variety of environments, including classrooms, Cockpit Procedures Trainers, Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers, and flight simulators. You will distribute approved training materials, evaluate student performance, and assist in developing and maintaining technically accurate courseware. Additionally, you may be called upon to fill open seats for Captain or First Officer training as required by the company.

Candidates must be evaluated and accepted by an instructor selection board made up of American Airlines management pilots or their designees. Prior to being considered a qualified instructor, you must teach a qualification or continuing qualification simulator session observed by the Fleet Training Manager or their designee. After completing instructor training, you must demonstrate a competent ability to perform all curriculum segments and associated duties to the satisfaction of the Fleet Training Manager.
