About the Role
As an Instructor for Pilot Ground School, you will serve as a vital link between academic instruction and real-world aviation operations. This role is designed to develop and implement daily lesson plans that engage students in their journey toward becoming certified pilots. You will fulfill the duties of a Ground Instructor and Check Airman, ensuring all instruction aligns with Part 141 Ground School requirements.
Your day-to-day involves creating a supportive and professional learning atmosphere where students can master current discipline standards. You will be responsible for delivering 15 credit hours of instruction during fall and spring semesters, with additional summer instruction or internship supervision as needed. Beyond the classroom, you will actively participate in student recruitment, program promotion, and departmental initiatives, helping to shape the next generation of aviation professionals.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this position will be required to pass the FAR Part 141 Assistant Chief Ground Instructor or Check Airman assessment, including both initial and recurrent checks. The selection process evaluates both technical expertise and the ability to teach effectively within a collegiate setting.
