The Simulation Education Coordinator serves as a vital bridge between the Center Director, faculty, and staff to develop and execute high-impact simulation activities tailored to the needs of diverse learners. This role is designed to enhance clinical education by integrating advanced simulation-based approaches, including high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, and standardized patients.
In this fast-paced learning environment, you will collaborate closely with the team to design scenarios, facilitate activities, and lead debriefing sessions that drive student growth. A significant portion of the day involves training and mentoring standardized patients (SPs) to ensure accurate case portrayal, effective performance evaluation, and constructive feedback delivery. The position requires a unique blend of instructional expertise, operational coordination, and the ability to work both independently on self-managed tasks and collaboratively within a team to meet strict deadlines.
You will be joining the Center for Simulation and Clinical (CSC) at Stony Brook University, a hub dedicated to excellence in clinical training. The team works to create an inclusive learning environment where educational needs are met through innovative simulation technologies and rigorous quality improvement initiatives. As an essential position, the role is critical to the university's mission, often requiring flexibility to support operations even during limited campus activities or emergencies.
