The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) is one of the three regional campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, a leading public medical school. The Department of Pediatrics is one of the largest departments at UICOMP, collaborating closely with OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois to provide comprehensive general pediatrics and subspecialty services to the pediatric population in Central Illinois.
OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois, located in Peoria, is the third largest pediatric hospital in Illinois and the most comprehensive hospital for children downstate. With over 140 pediatric subspecialists and 136 beds, the hospital cares for more children in Illinois than any facility outside of Chicago. The department boasts a robust research infrastructure, including a dedicated office of research and biostatistician support.
The team also leverages the Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center, a collaboration between UICOMP and OSF HealthCare. This 168,000-square-foot facility replicates real-world patient care settings to train clinicians in a safe, high-fidelity environment.
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Pediatric Endocrinology, you will manage the care of patients within the outpatient clinic, operating within the parameters of medical staff privileges. This role is integral to the educational mission of the college; you will participate in the training of nursing students, medical students, and residents, serving as a preceptor and mentor. To practice clinically at the University of Illinois Health System, this position requires and maintains a faculty appointment.
Your day-to-day impact involves providing comprehensive health care, from conducting health assessments and interpreting diagnostic tests to developing and prescribing treatment plans. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and educational plans for families. By participating in case conferences and assisting with curriculum development, you help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals while delivering high-quality care to children in Central Illinois.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $97,000 to $110,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
