About the Department
Albany Medical College's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is a high-volume academic center serving as a regional perinatal referral hub. The department manages over 2,500 deliveries annually and 18,000+ ambulatory clinic visits, caring for a diverse patient population with complex maternal and fetal co-morbidities. The team includes 30 physicians, 10 advanced practice providers, 2 genetic counselors, and a robust educational program with 24 residents and 6 fellows across various subspecialties. Comprehensive multidisciplinary support is provided by Maternal-Fetal Medicine, OB anesthesia, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary services.
About the Role
This full-time Obstetrician-Gynecologist Hospitalist position offers an excellent opportunity to practice in a dynamic inpatient setting focused on labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and inpatient gynecologic care. The role is designed for physicians who thrive in a shift-based model with no outpatient clinic responsibilities. You will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetrical care, manage emergencies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient safety. A core component of this position is the academic mission; you will actively supervise and teach OB-GYN residents and medical students, participate in simulation training, and engage in quality improvement and protocol development. This role also offers the unique opportunity to help develop an academic OBGYN Hospitalist program within a well-respected health system.
