About the Department
Albany Medical College's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is a high-volume, academic inpatient setting with a robust educational mission. As a regional perinatal referral center, the department manages over 2,500 deliveries annually and serves a diverse patient population, including those with complex maternal and fetal co-morbidities.
The team includes 30 physicians, 10 advanced practice providers, 2 genetic counselors, and a robust training program with 24 residents and 6 fellows. We provide full-scope OB-GYN services supported by comprehensive multidisciplinary teams, including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, OB anesthesia, neonatology, and nursing.
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Obstetrician-Gynecologist Hospitalist to join our team. This role is designed for a physician who thrives in a shift-based, inpatient environment focused on labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and inpatient gynecologic care. Unlike traditional OB-GYN roles, this position involves no outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing for a dedicated focus on acute care and hospitalist duties.
You will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetrical care, manage emergencies, and supervise the education of residents and medical students. The position offers a unique opportunity to help develop an academic OBGYN Hospitalist program within a well-respected academic health system. The schedule utilizes a 7-24 hour shift model (monthly), covering day, night, weekends, and holidays, supported by a shared schedule structure.
